Episodes - Six Piano Pieces

I wrote the piano pieces in 'Episodes' during a secluded period following a profound experience where I successfully performed CPR. This event shook my beliefs about 'interconnectedness' and the possibility of human consciousness transcending our earthly existence. It was a time of solitude.

The pieces from 'Episodes' were composed with the notion that the idea of humans being 'special' is invalid. We are like animals, exhibiting similar behaviors in many aspects. This simple observation held deep meaning for me, and I did not want to elaborate on it extensively by cognitive means like words or image. Fortunately, I was able to express this idea through music.

Another aspect of these music pieces is that, having previously worked with randomness and electronic music, I now focused on composing purely by ear for acoustic instruments, steering clear of digital instruments and music theory.

As a young boy, I once saw a dragonfly emerge from a cocoon. The cocoon looked just like a reed stem. It took about an hour for the dragonfly to free itself from the cocoon. Giving birth is apparently not only an intensive process for humans."
